Community Garden - Available for planting May 11, 2018

The mission of the Community Garden is to provide interested Stayton residents access to property for the sole purpose of gardening.  As such, patrons agree to grow vegetables, fruit, or flowers only.  Illegal plants or permanent species are not allowed (i.e. trees, grapes, evergreens, etc.) including marijuana plants.

Norpac Foods, Inc., has agreed to allow a Community Garden on their property located on N. Evergreen Street, south of the Salem Ditch.  Applications for an individual plot, that measures 10’ x 30’, will become available May 1st at the Public Works office located at 311 N. Third Avenue.  A plot charge of $25 covers water usage and tilling of the plot.

The City is looking for community volunteers to maintain a garden plot set aside for the Stayton Community Food Bank.  If interested, please contact the Public Works office at 503-769-2919.
