City of Stayton Housing Rehabilitation Program

 

The City of Stayton has funds available to assist homeowners make repairs to their homes.  The funds are dispersed in the form of a loan secured by means of a second mortgage on the property.  There are no monthly payments required on the loan -- the loan is repaid when the home is sold.  Interest on the loan accrues for only five years.

 

The Housing Rehabilitation Program can help homeowners repair or replace roofing, plumbing and electrical, dry rot, foundation issues.

 

In order to qualify for a Housing Rehabilitation Loan, you must be the owner of the home, not renting.  The Home must be within the City Limits of the City of Stayton.  The home must be owner occupied.  The combined income of all member of the household must be under 80% of the median income for Marion County.  The brochure available below gives the current income requirements, based on household size.  You must have equity in the home based on upon 85% of the Marion County assessor's real market value.

Since 2019 the City of Stayton has provided grants to the owners of manufactured housing units who do not own the land on which their homes sit.  This program has been run in cooperation with the cities of Aumsville, Turner and Mt Angel and with Marion County.  In the winter of 2020, the five cities and Marion County decided to expand eligibility to all of the cities in Marion County except Salem and Keizer.  The Environmental Review for expanding the eligibility area for the grant program is posted below.
